Steve Batkin - Friday. 23.6.2017: Former Coal Miners Are Turning In Their Graves! Tories Win Parliamentary Seat In Stoke South. Above image viewers' far left with dark hair and dark suit is Lord John Wakeham the former Conservative Party (Tory) Member of Parliament (MP), Chief Whip of the Conservative Party, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury, Secretary of State for Energy; centre is former Tory leader Lady Margaret Thatcher. The Tories in decades gone by were extremely unpopular in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and never stood the remotest chance of ever being elected either on a local basis (councillor) or national basis (MP). Unfortunately how times have changed with the historic election of a Tory MP in the parliamentary constituency of Stoke South in the city of Stoke-on-Trent; this incredible event took place in the 2017 general election due to a variety of reasons, 1: There was no credible Labour Party opposition and no credible right-wing party opposition in the election, 2: Changing population with the natural deaths of many indigenous people who have gradually been replaced by a growing Asian population, 3: Political establishment encouragement for the huge expansion of 'sickness' benefits for former industrial workers and their progeny, 4: Vague promise by the Tories that they are going to 'leave' or disassociate Britain from the European Union resulting in a serious clamp down on cheap worker immigrants. The British people are completely unaware who was and still is operating the Tories: a major clue presents itself when we find out from the global financial press that decades ago Lord Wakeham awarded a contract to the ubiquitous and shady global banking family N.M. Rothschild to advise the British Government on coal privatisation -- it was partially implemented and never worked with every deep coal mine in Britain now defunct! In Stoke-on-Trent The IRA Was Very Unpopular. Whole Pub Cheered After News Of The Bombing! Above image is the Grand Brighton Hotel in Brighton, England which in 1984 during a Conservative Party (Tory) conference period was bombed by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) who wanted to kill the British Prime Minister and her Cabinet: the same evening as the day of the bombing I was in a packed public house in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, (in the Stoke South constituency) when a news report appeared on the pub's television (TV) -- the uproar in the pub for support of the bombing was absolutely deafening! That's a gruesome fact! Images then appeared on the TV of the survival of Lady Thatcher -- deep groans of heart felt disappointment reverberated around the pub bar and lounge with scores of people shouting: "Oh no! She's still alive!" The IRA in general had very little support in Stoke-on-Trent but when they attacked the Tories then Stoke-on-Trent's former industrial workers cheered aloud with deep vigour -- why was this hatred so strong? The reason for this was very simple: the Tories were seen by the majority of Stoke South's population as greedy, arrogant, rude and a pack of liars! This was most certainly true back then just as it's very true today! Anyway that was 1984 and the decades have gone by with many of Stoke South's former coal miners having gone to the grave; the fading bitterness between strikers and scabs still exists among the surviving former miners but the fact is in 2017 some of the former miners and their descendants have voted for the once hated Tories! I never thought in my wildest dreams this would ever happen but I suppose desperate people do desperate things when having no real choice when it comes to voting at election times. A former Stoke-on-Trent Labour Party elected councillor once told me that during the 1984-85 coal mining strike period he used to go down to the Houses of Parliament in the British capital of London and witness the political 'debates'. He told me: "Our Labour Party Members of Parliament (including Stoke South) never spoke up for us they just drew their money!" The truth is 'Socialism' in Stoke South is as dead as a dodo!
