Steve Batkin - Saturday. 17.2.2018: Can Genuine Patriotic Politics Ever Come Back To Britain? Proof Of Altruism And Accountability Are Vital For Revival! Above image portrays right-wing people arguing and unable to agree on a way forward regarding how to approach and reverse Britain's gradual socioeconomic decline. Obviously altruism is an essential ingredient combined with accountability: any member of or person considering becoming a member of a political party, organisation, group or whatever which collates money must be able to inspect at short notice all the properly kept up to date accounts; if it's not possible at short notice to inspect accounts then any political party, organisation, group etc. can expect to be accused of or at the very least open to suspicion of corruption! What I've just stated in this article is not rocket science so why was it and still is never done? I spent eight years working for Stoke-on-Trent City Council (Staffordshire, England) as an elected city councillor and I very well remember being contacted by some of my constituents concerning a violent argument which had broken out over allotment management. When I got involved the police and City Council officials had already been brought in by some allotment holders with accusations of bullying, physical assaults, misappropriated money and illegal dumping of materials. When all the dust had settled I was the one who pushed for a moral, practical and sensible outcome not only for the allotment site I've referred to but all the many allotment sites which existed and still exist in the city of Stoke-on-Trent and beyond. Why did I not succeed? I started by simply asking to look at the accounts of the allotment site in question and the allotment leadership refused, why? On and off I spent around a year of my time as an elected city councillor attending both public and private meetings trying to achieve what seems like a simple task only to eventually tell my constituents the accounts will never be examined by an independent source! The allotment group then officially split in around two halves with bitterness on both sides of the dispute; one half left the site; some gave up on allotments altogether; a few of them set up on a different site. If any council tax payers do not believe what I've just written in this article please contact Stoke-on-Trent City Council and ask them -- you will probably get led around in circles for a period of time only to eventually find out what I've said is true! Anyway getting back to the beginning and the point of this article: is there a chance for a genuine revival of patriotic British politics in Britain? Not even the remotest!
