Steve Batkin - Thursday. 21.2.2019: Extremely Rare Insight Into The Many Deaths Of Young People. Stoke-on-Trent's Outgoing Coroner Reveals Political Failure! Having recently read my local newspaper The Sentinel on the 11.2.2019, I was shocked to read a report by one of the paper's journalists about the retiring local coroner. Ian Smith who retires this March revealed something which Britain's politicians and media quite simply just don't want to talk about: the deaths of young people in the Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire area is very high. Although in the report the newspaper printed some quotes by Mr Smith it most certainly did not contact any local politicians or begin a debate among journalists. Politicians in Britain are partially protected by the media particularly before elections so as to ensure their re-election and to preserve the political establishment. Anyway the point I would like to make in this article is that many young people are dying decades before their time in all British cities, towns and even villages. The outgoing coroner Mr Smith who has been too quiet for many years has on retirement at last said something which I've been aware of for many years: Mr Smith said: "the biggest killer is heroin". The report is not fully honest because alcohol, legal and illegal drugs contribute to deaths which are not actually classed as alcohol or drug deaths so therefore don't appear in any statistics. I believe alcohol contributes to an enormous amount of deaths! Mr Smith does admit the situation is getting worse and unfortunately Britain's and Stoke-on-Trent's politicians and journalists for whatever reason only known to themselves just aren't interested.
